Cobia on the BottomReport Date: March 14, 2015The Blue Waters 2 set out on an afternoon convention trip. Captain John took a spin offshore but the conditions weren't good. The weedlines were gone and the was an absence of birds and current. So plan two was to set up and live bait in about 150' of water. The surface baits were quiet but the bottom rod was active. First two large bonitas were boated on the bottom rig. When the mate dropped the bottom rod a third time, the line just screamed out. The fight was on. Eventually a 40 pound cobia was landed. A very proud angler poised for pictures and all too soon it was time to get back to the dock. Captain John Barker
