From Brook to Ocean and BackReport Date: March 11, 2016A father/son team booked the Blue Waters 2 for some six hour trips. The first day there was a cold front that moved thru in the morning. The trip was post phoned until the afternoon. The timing was perfect. The sun came out, the waters calmed down, and the fish turned on. The anglers helped capture some herring and pilchards at the range marker. Then Captain John bombed off shore to the edge and sent out the kite and rigger baits. A frisky sailfish bite the long bait and the fight was on. The fish made three runs on the light spin tackle but he was finally alongside the boat. One quick picture, a tag, and he was back in the water swimming away. There were a few more bites on the live baits. After no action for an hour, the crew switched over to trolling and captured two Black Fin Tunas on mylar lures. A few more fish were captured and released and two tired anglers were returned to the dock. The Blue Waters 2 and Captain John have open days during the spring break/Easter holiday so call and book away. Captain John Barker
