Kingfish are Biting!Report Date: September 20, 2016The Blue Waters 2 was one of four boats chartered for a morning convention fishing trip. Captain John knew the kingfish had just shown-up the day before so trolling was on his list. The spread was put out with one planner and one wire line and surface baits and the bite was on. The drone spoon on the wire was as active as the planner seawitch and strip. The bite was fairly solid and seven nice kings were in the boat and a few short fish released. The customers took a break and then asked the crew to live bait. So in came the trolling gear and out fired the livies on the kite and rigger. They spent over an hour with the kite but there were no bites. Still happy with the most fish of the four boats, the crew headed back to the dock.
